I'm rubber your glue
Everything I read is bouncing off of me and sticking to...SOMETHING. Wow! I am so theoryous! Just trying to figure out why nothing is sticking to me. If you have any suggestions, please share. Anyways, clinicals were very rewarding this week. I met my goal to be more assertive. There is still plenty of room for assertive growth but I am happy about the little sprout that came forth. The clinical group I was part of were all wonderful, thoughtful, giving and of course very intelligent. Hope you all have experienced a wonderful group like ours.

I need my teeth cleaned!!!
I know, GROSS!! Wednesday after class a lovely nursing student had an appointment to get her teeth cleaned. She arrived early but was not invited to sit in the recliner until the waiting room was empty. A gentleman next to her shared a few words of wisdom, "If you choose a magazine that you really like you will be called back much sooner." She looked down at what she was reading and immediately knew her fate. In her hands was a Fundamentals of Nursing Textbook.

Brain is fried and I still have more to read
Okay, I will share my fear with all of my new friends. I am so worried that even with all of this reading and learning and practicing, I will never know enough to give my patient what they deserve...the best. Nurses do a lot more than I thought they did.

Fourth week and ready for more
I really enjoyed my first hands on Clinical experience. The nurses and CNA's were very helpful. The CNA's made sure I knew their way of making a bed. They were FAST!! All the patients were appreciative and happy to see us. I did do one blonde thing...while keeping eye contact with the patient and listening to his delightful story I put his roommates linens in the trash can. He got a kick out of it while my face turned bright red.

Third Week First Clinical
I don't know why I was so nervous. My patient was very kind and very intelligent. I had a good experience and am looking forward to being even MORE hands on.

Not Obliterated...Yet
It was pretty cool to obliterate my lab partners pulse. Time really flew by in lab today. Thanks to our lab instructor and lab group I am comfortable checking someones blood pressure. Time to go home and practice on my family. I should probably have lolly pops ready when they leave my little vital signs clinic.
